Word #1 (revision)

Sentry (noun) came across this word when I had to listen to Michael Savage on KNEW for a MCOM 101 assignment.

A soldier stationed at a place to stand guard and prevent the passage of unauthorized persons. The duty of a sentry; watch.

Michael Savage said Obama is a puppet presidential candidate; because he was only put in the race to act as a sentry against Clinton.

Find a word you don't know from something you're reading, not from dictionary.com. (Or cite the source of the original sentence, if it's not from dictionary.com.)

Also, your sentence needs to do more to explain/illustrate the meaning of this word. "Worked perfectly" how?
